Arctic Fox is the softest of all fox materials. The guard-hair of these tails is approximately 2 inches on average. Arctic fox is the most common type of fox used for fly tying. For bigger flies Silver fox is a better choice. The hair on Silver fox tails is longer than Arctic fox tail hair.
